At Willowbrook Heights, the Trivium forms the basis of our curriculum.
We strongly believe in the classical education philosophy, which focuses on helping students develop critical thinking, reasoning, and communication abilities.
You might be wondering if this approach is truly effective.
Studies show that alumni of the Association of Classical Christian Schools (ACCS) outperform peers from other educational backgrounds. They are better prepared academically, hold more traditional viewpoints, think more independently, and exert greater influence in their communities.
These results align with findings from the Ontario study “Academic Skill Deficiencies in Four Ontario Universities.” Both studies highlight the percentage of students who feel well-prepared for university and achieve top grades while there, however, this study demonstrates the significant improvement of those results for students who receive a classical education. For example, only 35% of students from the public & catholic school systems earn (or expect to earn) an A at university, compared to 55% of those classically educated. Furthermore, less than 50% of high school students in public/catholic schools felt prepared for university compared to about 88% of those classically educated.
This evidence reinforces the notion that a classical curriculum leads to significantly better student outcomes thus reinforcing our commitment to helping position your teens to perform above the rest – both academically and personally.
