A Haven for Growth

We have witnessed that students crave knowledge.  However, as teens, they don’t like the responsibility of finding it on their own. What they do like is to be given information and then to have the opportunity to talk through it, to explore it, question it and come to their own conclusions. 

This may seem counter-intuitive to what most of us have either experienced or witnessed, but it is indeed true.  But there is a reason that in most classrooms you find quiet, disengaged students. 

To ignite a teen’s passion for learning, we must cultivate a safe and supportive environment where they feel comfortable expressing themselves without fear of judgment or reprisal. Unfortunately, overcrowded classrooms and rigid curriculum demands often stifle the joy of true learning.
